In the framework of INTERREG III-C SufalNet’s 21 partners from across Europe have delivered their Model Strategies on examination, after-care and redevelopment of former and abandoned landfills.

At SufalNet’s final conference, which was held on 14 November 2007 at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels, stakeholders and politicians gave their first reactions to the Model Strategies.

They concluded that SufalNet has made a positive contribution to the general knowledge on the risk assessment of present and future use of 150.000 former landfills in the European Union. SufalNet has also provided a positive contribution by assisting authorities, communities and stakeholders in this process.
